Lt. Col. Janice Davis assumes command of the 110th Medical Group

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Lt. Col. Janice L.B. Davis assumed command of the 110th Wing Medical Group from Col. Raphael Torres during an assumption of command ceremony held on Feb. 1, 2020 at Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, Battle Creek, Mich.

During the ceremony, Vice Wing Commander Col. Josiah Meyers welcomed Lt. Col. Davis, spoke of her background and praised her accomplishments. Taking the podium, Davis asserted her intentions to stay true to the Air Force core values of integrity, service and excellence, and also the unit values: compassion, professionalism and commitment. In attendance were members of the medical group as well as members of the 110th Wing staff.

“It’s an outstanding unit and I am excited for the new challenge,” said Davis, who has worked as a nurse practitioner for various civilian organizations from 2005 to 2016, and from 2003 to present as an officer for the 178th and 179th Medical Groups in the Ohio Air National Guard. She also brings enlisted active duty experience as the Superintendent of Medical Resources at Andrews Air Force Base, Md, and Health Systems Specialist for the 178th Medical Group, Springfield Air National Guard Base, Ohio.

Lt. Col. Davis holds a Master of Science, Family Nurse Practitioner, currently working in medical case management as a contractor for the National Guard Bureau, and is a member of the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She resides in Springfield, Ohio with her husband, Cliff Davis, retired Lt. Col. of the Air Force.
