Latvian President visits Battle Creek Air National Guard Base
The 110th Attack Wing, Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, Mich. proudly host the President of the Republic of Latvia, Raimonds Vejonis, for a special tour of Wing facilities, Friday, September 23, 2016. Joined by his wife, Iveta, the President’s two-hour visit included a briefing at the 217th Air Operations Group which highlighted the 110th Attack Wing’s mission capabilities: Command and Control, Cyber Operations, Agile Combat Support, and the MQ-9 Reaper program. President Vejonis’s visit to the 110th Attack Wing celebrated the highly-successful State Partnership between Latvia and the Michigan Air National Guard. The U.S. Department of Defense established the State Partnership Program in 1993 to promote stability, enhance military capability, improve interoperability and enhance the principles of responsible governance among struggling Baltic Nations and assigned program management to the National Guard Bureau.(Air National Guard Photo by Master Sgt.
